What are Daily Picks?
Daily Picks are personalized album recommendations that appear on your Home screen each day in Roon (desktop and mobile) and in Roon ARC. Every set is built from your own listening, the music you've actually played in Roon, and reaches even further back to resurface a favorite you may have forgotten. As a result, the recommendations are yours alone, not charts or editorial playlists. Each day brings a new set of three to five picks, and now and then Roon may place a brand-new release from an artist you listen to at the front of the set, where a single tap takes you straight to the album.
Every pick tells you where it came from, for example, "Because you listened to..." so nothing arrives unexplained. Open a pick to see the full set, then browse, play, or save an album to
Listen Later. A fresh slate arrives every day, and yesterday's picks aren't kept, so it's worth coming back daily.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't I see Daily Picks on my Home screen?
Daily Picks is built from your listening history. If Daily Picks aren't appearing, it means Roon doesn't yet have enough listening data to generate picks with confidence. Roon deliberately doesn't fall back on generic or popular recommendations. If it can't make good picks for you specifically, it doesn't show any. Keep listening, and Daily Picks will appear!
Daily Picks requires an active streaming service, so users who run Roon with only local files won’t see the feature.
Someone else in my household sees Daily Picks, but I don't.
Picks are generated per
profile. Each profile builds its own listening history and gets its own picks.
How often do picks change?
Once a day. Every day brings a new set.
How many picks do I get?
Between three and five each day.
Are picks based on recent listening?
Roon will try to reflect your recent listening in Daily Picks, but it will also look into your history and try to help you rediscover forgotten favorites. Some picks might be based on what you played this week, while others may key off listening you did last month or last year. Anything you play in Roon can end up feeding your Daily Picks.
Why is it recommending an album I already know?
Picks are seeded from albums you've played or added, then branch out to related music.
Once an album appears in your picks, it won't reappear for at least 30 days.
Can I get back to yesterday’s picks?
No. Once a new set arrives, there’s no way to get back to yesterday’s picks, so make sure to check back every day.
Will I see Daily Picks in ARC?
Yes. Both Roon and ARC display Daily Picks on the Home Screen at launch.
