Resolving "Metadata Improver: Halted" error messages

If you come across an error message saying Metadata Improver: Halted, please try the following steps to resolve. 

Update Roon

This error can occur if you're running an outdated version of Roon. Please ensure that you're running the latest version. You can read more about updating here

Reboot

Often times a reboot will resolve this type of issue. It might happen because your server machine got into a bad state and is unable to properly communicate with our servers. Rebooting will typically get the server machine out of this bad state and allow the connection to be made. 

Resolve Networking Troubles

If you're seeing this type of issue frequently, it likely means that your server machine or network is having trouble communicating with our servers.   1. Change the DNS that your network is using
  2. Disable IPv6 on your router and server
  3. Remove any managed switches, WIFI repeaters, or powerline adapters from your setup
  4. Disable any VPN, firewall, and antivirus running on your server
