FAQ: Why is Roon converting to PCM?

The most common reasons why DSD is converted to PCM are:
  1. The audio device isn't reporting DSD support to Roon
  2. The audio device isn't configured to support DSD playback
  3. Volume leveling or Crossfade are enabled for the current zone
  4. Features in the DSP Engine which require PCM conversion have been enabled
  5. DSP volume control is enabled, and this requires a conversion to PCM
